„It is a great pleasure to introduce Archiv für Körperpsychotherapie No.2, which is devoted to the journal I founded thirty years ago. Peter Freudl’s detailed overview of the different phases of the evolution of the journal documents aspects of two thirds of my working life. His finely differentiated analyses of the contents, by author and by theme, is a roll call of my professional colleagues during this period. Since the early nineties the Journal has been regularly taken by the Zentrum für Psychologische Information und Dokumentation at the University of Trier, which is a member of the Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft Wilhelm Gottfried Leibniz in Germany. So although the German state recognizes, as yet, no form of body psychotherapy, the principal journal of body psychotherapy in Germany is accepted by a Scientific Association funded wholly from public money.
Energy & Character now begins the second thirty years of its life, as we enter the new Millennium. On this occasion, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all those who contributed their skills, in different capacities, to keep the journal alive and healthy and inparticular to Peter Freudl for his labour of love in documenting so well the wealth of information we have provided in support of body psychotherapy.”
